Sacked chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin, says he has instructed his lawyers to file a suit against the Speaker and the House of Representatives over his suspension from the house Wednesday September 28th.

Jibrin was suspended following his refusal to appear before the  House of Representatives Committee on Ethics and privileges to address the allegations of budget padding he leveled against the Speaker and 13 other lawmakers.  Speaking with journalists in Abuja after his suspension, Jibrin said he fears for the life o those around him as he is fighting a mafia'.

"What is very important also is that now they have done their worst, they have suspended me, what has it changed? Has it changed the fact that the speaker conspired with other principal officers to divert N40 billion out of N100 billion meant for constituency projects. Has it changed the fact that he inserted fraudulent projects worth 20 billion? Has it changed the fact that he diverted multi-million naira project to his personal farm? Has it changed the fact that he tried to use the running cost — money meant for running the offices of members — for a questionable mortgage? Has it changed the fact that he diverted FGN project to his farm.

Actor Kalu Ikeagwu has come out to explain what really happened, after he arrested by the police following a robbery and homicide case.

 Below is the statement he released:

Just to clear the air, I have this to say. I was literally abducted at gunpoint by earring wearing men purported to be policemen (they were five) in an unmarked Hiace bus with civilian number plates and fake identity cards. They first claimed to be working on an abduction Abuja case which changed to a robbery case, all while in transit.
 Even on getting to the police station I was not allowed to go in to the premises but was held outside . I repeatedly asked to go into the station where I'd feel safer to ask whatever questions that were burning in my mind regarding my traumatic experience. It did not happen. Instead they told me a phone used for a kidnap was being sought for,later the story changed to robbery then back to kidnap.

Sports minister shared birthday message, says life has no been very friendly to him.

Last Sunday was his birthday and this was what he shared.

IT IS 52 YEARS AGO: My Birthday Message.

Today marks another turning point in my life as I remember the day I arrived this planet called Earth. On this day a young woman had her first pilgrimage to the traditional labour room in Sabongida village in the then Resettlement Area now Langtang South Local Government Area in Plateau State.
Life has not been too friendly to me as I navigate these five decades with different and challenging experiences. My parents could only give me the education they could afford which was also limited to their standard. I had to get the rest for myself, with varying difficulties alongside frustrating hardship I decided to drive it to the end. It took me nine years to study a five year law course due to unsolicited donation of four years from ASUU Strikes, from 1991-1999. I was full of joy and praises to God for realizing my ambition of been a graduate.

Proceeding to Nigerian Law School Bwari was another Miracle because how I raised the huge budget of registration requirements is left to be imagined, but I remembered receiving contributions from friends, associates and kind hearted Nigerians. At least, I made the Law School and graduated and was called to Nigerian Bar as the first person to be a Lawyer in my native Local Government Area.

Mavi Isibor shares her experiences while grooming Olajumoke Orisaguna, the breadseller turned model'.

Mavi Isibor is the Senior Pastor, Church of God Mission Int’l, House of Praise, Lekki, Lagos and the Group Chief Executive Officer, Poise Nigeria Group which specialises in etiquette training, total personality development consultancy and performance enhancing corporate cultures.
The outfit is presently grooming Olajumoke Orishaguna, the Lagos bread seller – turned model.

She speaks with TOLUWANI OLAMITOKE on her background, the challenges of growing up, her activities and marital issue. Let’s have a peep into your background.

I am the second child of a family of seven children. I had a very humble beginning at Fadeyi, Lagos. While growing up, I had many wants and many of my needs went unmet. Our circumstances were harsh and the deprivation glaring. Fortunately, I was blessed with a father who loved education; hence, with the little earnings he made as a civil servant, he ensured that we attended school. However, upon his early retirement, the continuation of our education was threatened and it was left to my mother to bear the heavy burden of providing for our family (which also included extended family members). Even as children, we appreciated the sacrifices and grueling efforts my mother made to make sure that we remained in school, had food to eat, and clothes to wear. The foundation of who I am today was laid by the ‘never say die’ attitude of my mother. Today, by the grace of God, I am the Group Chief Executive Officer of Poise Nigeria.

What fond memories do you have about growing up?

Growing up was fun, even though we did not have it all. My mother was a disciplinarian and she drilled the importance of good manners into us. She was very particular that the boys respect any lady they came in contact with, and the girls learnt the correct attitude of a cultured lady. Her constant words to us were that life was a gift and that good relationships were our most valuable possessions.

How did you delve into the etiquette business?

It was my 40th birthday and I was deep in the doldrums. I wondered what I had achieved at that age, where I was going and what I had done with my life. My constant thought was “If I die today, who will remember me and what will I be remembered for?” after 21 years of working in both the private and public organisations.  I finally came to the point when I could no longer stand the emptiness, the ache in my heart that came from the realisation that I was unfulfilled. I had always had a natural inclination for finesse, gracefulness, etiquette, decorum and decency, and coupled with my training at Protocol School of Washington, United States of America (USA), I became really good with matters of soft skills. It didn’t take long for my friends and colleagues to notice my expertise and they began to come to me for a hint or two on how to conduct themselves in public. It was during this time that the possibility of starting a finishing school first occurred to me. I reckoned that if I could do this with so much passion without pay and people loved it and asked for more, why could I not do it for a fee and make a living from it? This was the birth of the dream.

'Oh how I love #throwbackpictures 😍😍😍 ..... #7years together and I have never had a reason to regret accepting to be your wife. You chased me with every word, every conviction, every dream, but shi shi you did not have 😂😂.
Oh I remember your first car, a cherry QQ it was smaller than a picanto, and the uncompleted bunker where we started life together with our first baby 😍😍 I look back now and smile giving God all the glory, I am so glad I was a part of your life at the time. All you had to give were your words, your love & your dreams, I saw a young wise man ( Ecc 4:13) with so much vision & potentials thank God 🙏🏾 I never doubted you for a minute, even though most of them seemed unrealistic at the time.

Fayose says president Buhari is Nigeria's major problem..

According to a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, the governor  described President Mohammadu Buhari as the major problem of Nigeria that Nigerians must solve, saying;
 “Our President, through his actions and inactions is destroying everything that makes Nigeria a country and well-meaning.Nigerians must stand-up to be counted in the crusade to save thecountry from going under.”

He also said Pres.Buhari should realise that “Nigerians will not measure his government on the basis of what his predecessors failed to do, but on what he does or neglected to do between May 29, 2016 and May 29, 2019.”

The governor said it was President Buhari that went to foreign countries to de-market Nigeria by calling all Nigerians thieves and dishonest people, asking;
''Which foreign investor will invest his money in a country of dishonest people? Who made investors to leave Nigeria if not President Buhari, who created atmosphere of economic and political instability in the country by his acts of nepotism and vindictiveness?

Arrested pick-pocket stole from his interrogators while he was being interrogated..

A Twenty-Eight year old suspect who was arrested by the operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) for pick-pocketing proved his mettle by stealing N1,200 again inside the Police's office during an interrogation.

The suspect, Deji Ayoola, was hitherto, nabbed by the patrol team of the squad at Ojodu-Berger over the weekend for pick-pocketing a commuter trying to board a commercial vehicle to the Redemption Camp. He had successfully perpetrated the crime before the RRS operatives, who sighted him when he was removing the wallet pursued, arrested him.

Speaking RRS operatives, he said,
 "I collected a sum of N14,500 from Automated Teller Machine (ATM) from a bank at Berger on my way to the Redemption Camp.  However, I had no inkling that my money had been removed. It was about the time to pay fare that I discovered my wallet had disappeared....
In fact, I had even forgotten about the money until the following day, when an operative from RRS called me that my wallet was recovered from a suspect when they nabbed him. The Policeman added that they found my mobile number inside my wallet which made it easy for them to call me.I was shocked to hear this because I had already lost hope of recovering the money."
